What a day on Mt. Adams! Good temps, fast trails, and steep, buttery snow...We found the SW chute to be clean and nearly two car lanes wide at its upper throat. The snow was lightly textured but lusciously soft for 1800+ ft. Just be ready for either a heinious scree traverse to get back to the snow fields of the South Climb route or ride it all the way down and then follow the drainage down to the 'round the mountain trail. Mega exposed but softly textured snow off the summit of Adams on the upper snowfield above the Mazama glacier and the Lower Crescent glacier headwall as well. Best August turns yet for this Cali kid...
