Headed up to Silver Basin because the Paradise road was late in opening. I was originally skeptical of the snowpack up there but was pleasantly proven wrong. Coverage was great in gullies and in meadow areas with around 18 inches of near blower pow. Saw many others out there and I'm sure some TAYers were present. Followed a great skintrck up to the ridge and lapped the bowl three times, each lap yielding faceshots if you opened up the throttle enough. Still skied pretty cautiously given the low pack, but no hits until skiing down Quicksilver.Last run came off of threeway through the glades skiers right. No significant instability concerns, a little bit of windslab close to the ridgecrest but I could not get it to move, just some small cracks. Looks like we are of to a good start as flakes fall in Oly as I write.
