Met up with Samthaman this morning in Kendall with the intent of shredding some pow in the Twin Lakes Vicinity.  Sam's Suby was a champ, and made it all the way to the lake with ease.

Skinned from the car up the existing skin track, angling towards Peak 30.06 once we gained the ridge.  A quick pit showed us the new(er) snow had bonded well with the old, and we began the difficult task of bootpacking up the main chute on 30.06.  We stopped just shy of the summit due to insufficient snow cover on the underlying rocks.

The chute skied beautifully!  Carrying speed though the choke out onto the lower apron felt amazing!  Definitely nice to make some higher speed pow turns.  The lower faces back to car also skied well, albeit the occasional rock interrupting an otherwise smooth descent.

Sorry for the lack of action shots...Sam may post some later.
Is this near snoqualmie pass???

near baker off 542

Wow I was just thinking about heading up this weekend, was suprised you could still make it up to the lake but that cuts out some skinning for sure and actually looks like some decent snow up there !

Nice!

How was the wind over there? It was a bit windy on heliotrope, nothing crazy, but windy.

It was still good on Saturday 11/13.  We drove to the lake... maybe 2" of new overnight.  Snow got heavy by mid afternoon. We yo-yo'd the slope south of the lakes.  4 other groups and 2 snowmobiles up there.

Great days Fri/Sat.! These posts sure brought people out of the woodwork. I guess the positive is that you can bank on a skin track being set when you show up. That is, until the snow level drops and it's a 7 mile skin in...
