We we're hoping to connect ptarmigan ridge with Baker. But running a
little late with my low gas incident on the drive up the start of the climb.
I was running on empty so we had to drive back to Maple Falls to fill up.

We hiked for about 2 hours to get to the first snow patch.Pretty decent corn snow.
We hiked to the next patch with some firmer sun cups.At the bottom of the run, Mike noticed
a snowboard lying on the rocks.I walked over to check it out.Engraved on the top of the board
was a dedication to a fallen snowboarder who passed away in 1997.I would be interested
to find out if anyone new the story behind this. The board had seem be sacrificed to the mountain
and I'm sure the boarder would have wanted it this way.

On the traverse over to the next patch I got a little lazy not securing my toe and when I hit the
harder sun cups I released from one ski and did a huge yard sale into the creek.what away to
end the season of 2010.

But I was stoked to finish TAY for the 4th year and 48 consecutive months.

Beautiful day....

Respect to this fallen snowboarder..... :'(

Great TR guys, thanks.  Interesting find in the snowboard -- it appears to be "pre-internet", at least in as much as Google comes up blank for her story.  I wonder if someone here will know.

Nice work guys on 4yrs...bummer about the snowboarder though.

low on gas, losing skis... I like your style Andy!

I'll ask around about the snowboarder

Thanks Jason!

That would be great to get some type of story regarding the snowboarder....Thanks guys....

Andy, just scrapin' 'em sideways          great pic !
