Working on the second trip of "Backcountry sledding in Washington". The first trip was the popular Tatoosh saddle everyone goes to (forget between what and what). The finest green plastic moth-eaten piece was hauled up in nice conditions by myself and the 13 year old. Today, tons of climbers but only two skiiers. Muir is well known for being a pretty low angle ski and not steep enough for sitting or standing glissade. Did the sled help? A little. The cow path ( some downer cow jokes) did entrap the sled and provide some sustained runs. Exits onto the suncups usually tossed us pretty fast. At least there was no danger in bailing.
