Couldn't ask for a better September day.  Kacie and I headed down from Vancouver friday night and camped near the trailhead.  A few keystone's later we decided to keep warm by playing with some fire!  Notice the skis :)
After a bit of a slow morning we made our way up to Heliotrope to find at least 3 other groups up there already loving life.  It really was a spectacular day.. blue skies everywhere except for the summit (and Vancouver.. suckers).  Winds were quite high at times but once we got on the snow it was pretty good.  Must have been at least 15 C..
Snow was amazing.. looks like some of the new stuff from days before was being blown down from above and making the surface nice and flat.  After some more heating from the sun, we had some fabulous corn, perfect for some butter turns.  Last pic shows how amazing the whole area still is.. as skier8484 stated in the other tr, Heliotrope >> Ptarmigan conditions.
oh and if anyone needs that nicely placed bootpack up there, thank kacie :p
