I have been a little obsessed lately with Baker with 4 ascents and descents via
different routes this past season. So my brother talked me into hitting the Ptarmigan
ridge loop. Excellent coverage for this time of year. One pitch was around 1000 feet of
sustained skiing. The hike is enjoyable and not a straight up grind like the heliotripe.

I'll be returning to this area to get those early season ski turns in, many more times.

Thanks for the day....

Fun as always, and good to see great coverage out there.....

It wasn't lost on some of us that you refer to this trip as an early season outing.  Family and friends and a bit of fresh..  Does it get much better?

To be able to ski early September, it does not get much better.....

is it early, or late season. still summer. looks like an excellent spot. last photo epic

I guess that it's all one season if you go month after month.I just have that feeling skiing in Sep that it feels like early season with cooler temps. Also I started TAY in October. So that kind of signifies the start of another season.
