Dodger and I left Boring (literally and figuratively) at 5:30am on the 21st and hit the trail in my trail-tennies at CloudCap around 7:20am.
I gained the ridge and stayed on top of the Elliot moraine (SE) until the trail at the large cairn (about 6800ft) led me across the glacier. Instead of scrobling-up the other side to reach Langille Crags, I pulled on the plastics and cramponed-up the snow ramp on the north flank of the upper Elliot Glacier.
The Elliot is really starting to open-up and the views were magnificent, but it's a little late to drop into that particular pitch. My path continued up to the Dome and I turned'em downhill at 11:30. I smeared creamed corn across runnels and through suncups but I can't complain - It was a glorious day! I skied down to the crags then dropped back into the Eliot to retrace my path across and up to the cairn below Cooper's Spur. Back to the car a little after 1pm.
