The approach was via Edith basin, leaving the Skyline trail to go up the snow wind ridge creek-left (looking up) of Edith, about 6000', and over Mazama Ridge to lower Paradise. Snow was completely continuous rest of day, except for about 25 yards of loose rock (so no meadow-stomping) at base of wind roll.
Best ski was from pass by Cowlitz rocks, down to Cowlitz glacier. Stay skier left to avoid melted area on steeps at base. No other tracks evident. Over 1000' vertical of smooth and lightly sun cupped. Paradise was in good shape, too. Several goats on approach.
