Andy, Ryan, and myself decided to get our July turns on the Flett & Russell Glaciers last weekend.  We were met with suprisingly good conditions all weekend.

Day 1:  Hiked the Spray Park trail from Mowich sporting our mule-like packs up to camp at 7000'.  We set up camp at a liesurely pace and took an afternoon lap up to the base of Ob Rock and back.  Somehow, beer was buried in the snow right next to our camp!  So we enjoyed some of that, made some dinner, and decided to head back up for a repeat lap at sunset (EPIC!).

Day 2:  Woke up and headed for the Russell.  We topped out at 9500' and got some great views of the N Mowich, and Liberty Ridge.  The ski down was entertaining, we made the most of the terrain with some traverses to some steeper sections of the glacier before making it back to camp.  We packed up and found a suprising linkage to Spray Park to the skier's right of the climbers trail.  A couple short carries took us to the center of the park.  And a short time later, we were gorging on delicous bacon-cheddar burgers at the 410 (recommend it!).

Another great trip to one of my faves at MRNP. Month 57...
