When my wife says "You're grumpy, you should go skiing," and Brad calls the next day, and it's one of those rare "not a cloud in the sky" days, then I know the planets are aligned.
We waffled as to where to go, as is our nature, twice thinking North, then finally settling on South.  Once we got to Paradise, the beautiful Tatoosh were singing their siren song, so we turned our backs on Muir, the Chutes, the Paradise, and even The Stash, and headed across town.  The truck almost drove itself.
Climbing up was effortless in firm snow.  We started skinning because we could, but quickly changed to booting as we had to thread through some brush, and as it got steeper.  Skinning up the last few hundred to the Castle saddle was exciting, because the snow was so good.  Dimpled but not runnelled, soft but grainy, delicate yet with an enduring strength...OK too much? Chewey yet creamy.  Done
We skied down the back side, then traversed back up to the ridge and East to Foss.  We summitted, and only spent about 5 minutes admiring the views, and Mack & Keith's route from a day or two earlier, because the snow was too good.  We flew down to the SW basin then climbed back up to the ridge.
After lunch, Brad found an old cornice that was about 7-8 foot high, over a lower moat.  I ducked under it and got this video of him flying over me.  The crash landing was done on purpose to preserve more turns down the slope.  He said...

We went on down till we ran out of snow,

then hiked back up to the top of the backside of Castle, admired the views, ate another Cliff Bar and then it was down, down, all the way to the beer cooler.
We went back over to the Paradise Lodge to enjoy another another cold beer on the veranda, and admire our playground one more time.
