Set out with skiis and my 8-year old son to see how he would do on the snowfield Friday.  I had no expectations, and thought he might make it to Pebble Creek before complaining started.  Never happened.  He hiked all the way to Muir, in 6.5 hours.  I skinned, and we talked.  It was great.

The ski down was ok up top, and as expected below.

In two weeks, he'll summit Adams with me, and next July, Rainier.

Good job Drew!

WOW! I'm jealous.

I just hope that in 2 or 3 years I can get my 6 year old daughter to participate (willingly) on a similar adventure. Right now she's a long way off from being able to make it up to Muir.

That is so cool, Chris! You must be pretty proud of him!

Julie

I am.  Thank you Julie.  Next up, Adams in two weeks, and planning to summit Rainier next year when he is nine.  He's pretty excited.
