Brenda and I made a weekend of it with a camp at White River CG. Snow is finally in great shape and coverage is better than I can remember for this time of year. Saturday we headed straight to Pk 6567 for a quick run down the NW side, which was still a bit firm and bumpy. Climbed back up for a run down the SE side and some softer snow. Perfect. We messed around back there and did a little exploring to the next bowl below pk 6236 and got some water before heading back. Another run from the summit of 6567 and softer snow then back to the car. This was our first time camping at White River CG. I'm not a big fan of car camping, but this was really nice. The highlight was seeing a bear walk through the area just before dusk. Sunday we headed up to Sunrise for some fun at Sourdough Chutes. We did several runs in the bowl west of Antler Pk, including one down "fear factor", after booting as far as the headwall near the top. As I have a pretty good fear of heights, that thing always freaks me out. The first turn proved that it would be no problem however. Great coverag and great snow. Ski out over the meadows produced no hassles from the fuzz. What an awesome weekend.
