June 18, Hood, Hogsback

Started up from Timberline at 5:30, turned out a later start was lucky.  Parties starting earlier were turned around by wind and whiteout above chairlift.  Breaking weather window followed us up.  At Hogsback we dug quick pit and had a good look around.  Found crust over 12+" sitting over crust.  This + large shrund half way up the Hogsback + rime hangfire everwhere + warming temps + no signs of accents past the hogsback for a few days all added up to a no go.  Lots of snow up there.  Had a great ski down.
