June 20, 2004, Fortune Mtn

I guess I liked this trip since I did it 2 weekends in a row. Thunderhead activity prompted the decision to head east again. This time I made the trip with Meg, Walt, and the incredible Dylan. A fellow hiker informed us that Dylan's presence on the Ingalls pass trail was illegal due to his four legged mobility (Woof). We proceeded with the trip in spite of this admonition. Upon returning to the trailhead, we read the fine print to see that dogs are permitted within a 50 foot corridor of the Ingalls way trail. However upon reading the alpine lakes website, it says they are prohibited from Ingalls way only. The trailhead fine print said they were prohibited from the enchantments only. Hmmm...somewhat confusing. I wonder what the penalty for said offense is anyway.

Well despite this digression, the skiing was again excellent on Forturn Mtn. Further Dylan was able to knock loose small sluff balls and then chase them down the slope. What fun.

I think the skiing should be good again there this weekend.
