I skinned up to the basin below silver king. It is now a short walk from the display gondola at the base lodge to skiable snow snow (50 yards or so). The fresh 2-4 inches of new snow on top of the groomers was sticking to my skins on the climb despite scrape and re-wax. I did not venture the final climb up onto the silver king mainly due to the lazy/solo nature of my day, but it did not look to appetizing with alot of mushy roller ball sun wheels and debris (photo on link below). skiing on upper mountain was very nice like butter!  it was a bit sticky down low.
there was a weather cycle going round of short windy snow squalls, followed by patches of sun and then fog.
