Quick outing for my wife to try out new boots (need adjusting) and a friend practicing his splitboard (second time with skins), so no real ambitions to go far. We parked the car around 11AM in mixed snow and rain, but fortunately that turned to all snow just a hundred feet above the parking lot. By noon it was puking. Wife turned around due to pain in her feet pretty quickly, but my friend and I persevered to the top of Armstrong Express (cut him some slack, he's learning!)
The good news: By the time we got to the top of Armstrong Express there was 5-6 inches of new(ish) snow on the ground, fallen in the last 48 hours or so.
The bad news: It was all very heavy, and about 200 vf below the express lift it was heavy enough to not be any fun.
Verdict: Good practice, but you've got to go higher if you want great turns.

I went up to pineapple pass this AM and skied down between 11 and 11:45. The top 600ft or so was heavy but nice, the rest was just heavy. But still better than I expected. And the snowpack (at least above 3500 feet or so) is still getting deeper in May!
