Mike White and I skied the Southwest Couloir on the South Early Winter Spire on Thursday, and wow, what a fun line. It was on the narrow side, pretty steep too, and tops out almost at the summit of the spire, which is a very lofty place.
The next day we skied across the highway in the open trees and boulders.
The snow was for the most part non breakable crust with 0-6 inches of powder blown into spots. Very smooth skiing. The couloir was softer.

Yowza! NICE. What length are yer skis?
Haha, 175 Kilowatts. Those snowblade short skis would have been the ski of choice for that upper section/choke.
Nice pictures and write up Cons.
Not that I would ski that one, but I know what you mean how it feels better when you click into your skis compared to climbing in boots.
