Headed up to Alpental to do some lift assisted backcountry skiing, and upon arrival learned the lifts run only on weekends now. We skinned up Lower International and to Great Scott traverse. Cornices are still looming so we glided the traverse slightly downward and dropped into a gully just before Piss Pass. Jim called the snow isothermal mush, ski pole penetration was 2-3'. Bring your fattest skis for the next few weeks of consolidation!
