April 3,4 Stevens

My girlfriend Khanh and I ran the lifts at Stevens (yahoo!) a couple hours before switching to the other side of the highway.   The goods close at hand were terrific for a couple laps until the sun gave a few April blasts.  Then we headed to variations of north side Heather ridge.  Saw no one the whole day.  Breaking trail was sporty in that 2-3' of unconsolidated goodness.  A few small whumps just on the ridge and evidence of one small slab covered with 8" new.  Otherwise managed to stay out of trouble.    Next day more of the same with Pete, Becky, Andy and Mika.  Quatchi joined us as well.  maybe Khanh will post some other pics.

    Used my Karhu Jills for the first time.  Loved them in the powder but found them easily deflect in other conditions, hmm.   Even though the Jills are narrower, way easier than my decade old stiff Hagens.
