Somehow our weekend plans in the Olympics morphed into Sat at Rainier, up in the Tatoosh Range area...a perfect choice. The original new goal was Foss Peak (name under some discussion I see) via the Castle Shoulder. From a breezy start at Narada Falls we soon were down to t-shirts as we made our way up to the Shoulder and couldn't resist climbing under Castle and heading down the south side for a run. Perhaps 1,000 feet down the snow was hard to turn in so we headed up north by northwest figuring to catch ridge and head over to Foss. We decided not to summit but take the NW face down - what a run, the middle third were some of the best powder turns of the year! Want to head back and do more around that peak.
