We drove down the night before and got to the parking lot at Marble Mount Snow Park at 10:45PM. From there we skinned to 4200ft where we put up camp for the night. With full moon and clear skies we didn't need head lamps. Really got to enjoy the starry sky.
We took off the next morning at 9:45am (had a really good night sleep ;)). The first half of the ascent we skinned, the second part we used crampons because it got a bit icy and my partner felt more comfortable on crampons. After a rather slow ascent we got to the summit shortly before 2PM. We traversed the crater rim for a little while and then headed down. Skiing the top half of the mountain was very noisy. Icy snow with a trace of softer snow on top made it sound much worse than it actually was. Lower down, the snow got really soft and heavy. On steeper slopes it was easy to trigger smaller slides. Nothing dangerous though. Overall a super fun day. Weather couldn't have been better.
