Richard, Matt, Kevin and I accessed Marmot Ridge from Grouse Creek and crossed over onto the Thunder Glacier at about 6700.  Great views of Lincoln and Assassin Spire which was about to be assassinated.  We were able to skin up all the way to the col between Lincoln and Colfax and were going to climb the ridge from there to the summit of Colfax.  Brought all the gear needed except for the cojones to deal with the rotten rime ice quickly melting on the south side and the if you fall don't fall left situation on the north side.

Skied down a ways on Thunder skinned up to have a closer look at the ice routes on Colfax.  Too late in the day to start messing about.

The Thunder Glacier offers about 2400-2700 feet of great fall line skiing and is easily accessed from the Coleman Glacier right after you pass Colfax on your way down.  Definitely a great alternative to the CD ski, especially if you are going out Grouse Creek.

Sorry to have missed our friends Leigh, Tobae, and Monika cleaning up at Vertfest 2010.  Strong work by strong women!
Thanks for the tr and pics...sounds like a great alternative!!!!!!!

Ahh, you must have been the folks that followed our skin tracks up.  Was curious what you'd think of things over there.

You guys laid down some nice tracks from our vantage point atop Assassin Spire!  What a day to be out.

Oyvind,  What a great day up there!    Excellent trip planning.    This has been an outstanding winter!  Thanks for the photos.  More photos here:
