Got away for a late afternoon tour up and over Diamond Head. Followed Matt and his Airedale's track from the upper Tronsen pull-out to the county line and on to the N end of Diamond Head. Viewing east, the Windy Gully appeared scored with highmarking tracks.
Uneasy about taking any of the steeper runs down, I skied south to the road and took that back to the pass. This was chopped up and icy anywhere it had caught sun. Anticipated moonlight didn't show until just before the pass. Reaching the pass at 7:30, some kindly folks heading home to Okanogan gave me a lift to my car.
