Is it possible to ski this moutain in may? I've seen it from the Stevens Pass ski area and it looks awsome. My question is, is it doable and if so how do you get to it?<br><br>thanks

I've not done Rock Mtn, but it is listed in "100 Classic Backcountry Ski & Snowboard Routes in Washington"<br>by Rainer Burgdorfer.<br><br>The book gives the season as Nov->Apr and with this season's low spring snowpack

There aren't that many guidebooks for WA. I think the Burgdorfer guide is quite good and covers a lot of areas. The new Martin Volken guide is also good, though focused just around Snoqualmie Pass. On the other hand, I didn't find the guidebook by Seabury Blair to be worth spending money on.<br>

Yes, that is Rock's west side. Howard is the face to the left and behind. Rock also has a long north slope that I have viewed from Howard but have not skied. Probably have to climb out unless it is timed with the Rainy Creek road being melted out. I really want to camp at 5500 feet on the south shoulder in May and ski all three aspects.
