Does anyone know how far you can drive up this to approach Ingalls and Longs Passes, or where to search? I couldn't find any info. through the Wenatchee NF website.

I was up there today on my snomo. Road is closed @ 29 Pines. It's a very long way in skinning to get to decent pow. Everything is pretty much sun or rain/warm affected below 5k. Above that, there's good pow on N facing slopes. Blewett/Diamond head would probably deliver.

Does anyone know the feasibility of skiing the 9 - 10 miles + getting up and down to the Cascadian Couloir and back to the cars (parked as far up the road as possible) in a two-day overnight trip? Seems like a hell of an ambitious plan, but I have never tried to ski the Cascadian Couloir so can't make a good assessment of the situation.
Is the grade of the road steep enough so that you could glide downhill back to the cars or would you actually have to be skinning most of the way back to the cars?

I think the Hummels have done it , try their website, "alpine state of mind". The road itself is groomed 3.5 miles and packed by snowmobiles the rest of the way. The ungroomed portion is abnoxiously moguled by the machines to 2 to 3 feet deep at times, no fun to ski. So it is not a long glide on the exit. I've always had to put skins back on below Beverly Creek. An option (that is at least a faster cruise for a longer distance on the exit) is to go up Beverly Cr. to Beverly/Turnpike divide. Often you can cruise all the way to the N.Fk Teanaway Rd junction with the Beverly Creek Road in a long glide with only one or two creek crossings. Bean Creek probably the only open crossing right now. Beverly Creek trail can be a fun exit ski. The Beverly Creek road is steep enough to glide also. Maybe just take a bit of kick wax for the final 3 miles. The hardest part this low snow year may be crossing Upper Ingalls Creek from either Longs Pass or Turnpike Cr. In the past we have found fat logs to straddle across, like horseback riding, leaving the camping gear on the south side of the creek. Should be a fun TR to read when you get back! John

Here's an equally ridiculous approach: Friday night: Start at the Icicle, camp at colchuck lake. Sat: Up to Colchuck pass, down porcupine creek to Ingalls, up and down Cascadian, rejoice, climb back up porcupine cr to colchuck pass, see your tent (unless for some reason it's dark by now...) ski down to your tent. Sun: get up (i'm guessing super early start) and head out, probably tag d-tail and cannon on your way out for good measure.
I look forward to the pics! Sounds awesome!

Forest service says (on the web site) the road is open to Stafford Creek Road. Of course it would be nice to see some firsthand info reported here, as there have been years where you can get to Beverly Creek for a week or two before they update that report...

Jim, the N. Fork road is drivable with most any vehicle to Beverly Cr. The road up into Bean/Beverly was snow-free at the intersection, but we didn't venture up it. The North Fork Road was drivable approx. 1/2 mile further with a high clearance vehicle and is melting very fast. We took sleds up the road and there were a few melted out sections beyond the snow that stopped the vehicle, then it became full snow. We were able to make two ascents/descents of Stuart in two days, including Ulrich's couloir!!

Bean/Beverly TH is snow free. North Fork Rd is snow free for a mile past the Beverly Creek campground.

As of 5/14/10 my passenger car (Honda Civic) was able to drive about 3.5 miles past the Beverly/Bean road. High clearance vehicles could make it at least a little farther that I could see from my turnaround.

We drove Craig's Outback to within 1/4 mile of the Esmeralda trailhead Saturday. People will probably be driving all the way up by next weekend.

sorry for bumping this old thread, but does anybody have any info on when North Fork Teanaway Road / FS9737 will be open to vehicle traffic again? The USFS website just has a vague note about logging operations during the winter with no closure window specified.
Oops, they've updated the website: "Large snow berms have been created at the end of the pavement at 29 Pines, as well as at the junction of Stafford Creek Road 9703, and at the junction of Beverly Creek Road 9737-112. These berms are intended to prevent wheeled vehicles from traveling on the winter recreation routes."

Depending on where you want to go I might suggest checking out the TH/roads off of Blewett Pass. They can feed into some those same areas accessed from the teanaway.

Anyone know if it's now possible to drive to the Beverly Creek trailhead? I'm thinking of heading up on Friday. Will call the Ranger if no one here is sure of conditions.

Almost positive you could. I drove to 3.5 miles short of Esmerlda Basin TH, roughly same elevation with no problem. Just have a little clearance for crossing a few of the minor washouts. Probably not mandatory but would help. Enjoy, lots of snow up there.
