The road to Chinook Pass opened at 12 noon, 3 hrs after we left Cayuse Pass. We hiked up the road to the end of the first switch back. Skinned up the west ridge to the false summit. The east, south, and west facing aspects had good corn with firm bases. The north aspect had deep, unconsolidated mush. This north aspect is enticing, but needs a few more weeks to firm up.
