Brenda and I did a couple laps off Castle Saddle down into the basin above Lake Louise. I had almost forgotten what winter is like. Snowing and blowing all day, espcially up high. Excellent snow, but visibility was tough above the trees. Wind up there was crazy. Since things aren't as filled in as usual for this time of year, there are a lot of unexpected dips to watch out for. A few big deep holes over exposed creeks were particularly hazardous.

What's up with all the snowshoers and postholers? Tracks everywhere. There was a group of 8 or so up in the Castle Basin who had left their snowshoes in the car. Not sure what they were thinking.

Took a few pics. Not too great, as the weather wasn't the best for fooling with the camera.

Yay!  Nice shot of her hat with the thick snowall.

Thanks for the report Mike. Our group has been wondering how the Tatoosh is filling in. We saw your skin track or a snow shoe track up there and were wondering if it was a crown line. Good to know it wasn't.

Looking good Brenda!

Cool pictures actually........
