Central BC is mostly brown, green and red (alder and pine bark beetle killed trees) so we were glad the lady at the liquor store told us that she'd just been to Sun Peaks and "there was winter there!" or we'd of turned around after drive uphill many k's without a hint of white. Wonderfully delicious powder, not deep but the real thing after days of crusty stuff farther north in Wells Gray Prov. Pk and two months of same in Central Cascades. 1st time at Sun Peaks. Skied >12K VF in a day and didn't touch lots of runs. Fog and tree ghosts at top 500', clouds and sun below. No pix -- had to ski! Worth the long drive.
