Mike and I just got back from a trip skiing the slopes S of Ingalls Pass.  We
encountered snow all the way down to 29 Pines parking.  Much lower
snow line on the E side of the mountains!
We camped under the N face of Esmeralda on the snow-machine track.
It was fun watching the spin-drift cascade down the  N face of Esmeralda.
The best skiing was between 5600 and 6800 ft in spin-drifted areas.
We did not touch N aspects as those were the lee slopes and were
heavily loaded.  A five inch slab has formed over a thin, yet slick
(sun) crust on all S exposures.  Many slab-pillows are much deeper.
We did a dicey little traverse in full conditions over slabby snow
from Ingalls Pass W to pk 7382.  Then we skied down to camp.
Randy O. asks about coverage down low.  29 Pines has a couple feet of snow, with large bare spots under trees(2600 ft).  The parking lot under Esmeralda had four feet (4200 ft).
