Paradise was nice and unexpectedly sunny. Was great to ski some fresh snow. Not powder by any stretch of the imagination, but after that last bout of depravation it seemed epic. I'm sure some of you lurkers or TAYers were up there too....plentiful company. I still cant upload photos properly. I'm working on it now.

Stability was overall very good although was able to get a cornice to break with substantial debris, no propagation but the potential wasn't really there. Pole penetration up to 10 inches, ski penetration around 4. Got grabby in the PM in the sun, but several fluffy stashes remained in the shade and especially in trees on Mazama. Coverage was great. Looked as if everything above 7K was mighty windscoured. Most likely lots of windloading up higher, huge spindrift off Anvil, Pinnacle, Little T and Unicorn. Pics soon.
Nope. Pictures are gone partly because I hate my picture software, and I because I dont know how to use it properly and accidently deleted them from my recycle bin ???

Bottom line...lots of new cascade snow and bluebird...we've all been to Paradise right? WHo needs pics anyhow. Ha! ;)

no forgiveness.  I want my pictures!!!!!

We had a tremendous day up there as well... we skied a couple laps in the golden gate bowls then head over to the mazama back bowls and had another nice lap.  We didn't notice any major signs of instability even with the sun baking.

I'm too lazy to resize my pictures right now, but here are a few videos my buddy took that sum up the day pretty well.  I'll definitely call it powder given what we have been skiing for the last few weeks.

Thanks for the update.  I was wondering what was holding.

Feel free to pm me the finer aspects.   ;)

I know that I am critical of conditions, the Wasatch will do that to you. MLK day was great fun in fresh snow, especially in one of the most spectacular spots to ski in America you simply cannot beat the scenery and vibe of Paradise. It is something that is truly special (especially in colder pow which does happen there )
