Surprisingly good conditions yesterday. Above 4600 about a foot of fairly light snow on solid thick crust. No stability issues encountered. We stuck to the north facing slopes- me thinking the sun exposed slopes would get heavy quickly. But we watched another group set some nice tracks down the knob above Tye and apparently prove me wrong. All in all a great bluebird semi-powder morning with Mike, Brian & Justin. So good to get back out after a slowly recovering injury. Lots of others out there having fun too.
It was a great sunny day, eh? Lot's of people up there enjoying the day.

Did you happen to get any more shots of Tye with the lines a little more lookers right?

Alecapone- Here's a wide angle view that I cropped down a bit. The tracks in the previous pic are off the little knob far left of this view but they are hard to see as its overexposed.
Yea- It was a fun day. Did you put in those tracks?

Saturday was definitely the good day out at Steven's. Bluebird skies and light pow waiting to be found sure beats the trap crust and widely variable conditions we experienced Sunday. Both very nice days out, maybe someone will post a tr. Here are a few pics of our (moscawulf, alecapone and my) day out on Sat.

And yes, those were our tracks further up. Surprisingly good low density snow and well bonded to the crust below. And best of all, did not ever feel bottom above 4,500 feet (sat). Sunday was a whole different ballgame...

Conditions up at WA pass are superb at the moment despite the lackluster conditions down here.

There was some surprisingly good skiing to be a had if you knew where to look..

Looks pretty good for non-heli skiing!  ;)   Way to get it, you don't know if you don't go.

Nice work Chris (et all). It would have been fun to run into you up there- or at least in the lot for the post ski beers. Next time.

Yea it was pretty good. Plus we got to use our own beacons! ;)

Nah, just jealous, but not enough to return to paid employment to fund heli life. ;)
