Sunny skies for the most part in the Wasatch yesterday. And even with only 60-70 cm of snow on the ground, I was still pretty happy skiing all the old, used up, forgotten powder (by Utah standards) that I found. Expectations are everything.

I managed to squeeze in a tour on the N side of Big Cottonwood on the tail end of a business trip, and even picked up some good partners and great beta. What's not to like?! A few proof-of-powder pics are attached.

If you do go to Utah, keep an eye on the shallow rotten snow I was enjoying. The bottom 15cms of the snow pack was pure facets and it was pervasive. There's also a bonus layer of facets a little further up. When it finally snows again it will get exciting - one guy even quipped that they could use a shot of our rain before the next dump to tamp things down - sure, you can have the rain!

But hey, I hear we may actually get some snow? The snow always comes back.
