Revisited the Haney Meadow trail(XC-15) behind Diamond Head with Margy and Pico and their pruning saws. Several small trees later we skied up to the Liberty-Beehive road and on to the saddle between Diamond Head and Table Mountain. The groomer had been through here and we had a fun schuss and skate back to pass on the road.
As for the snow, best was around pass level with a couple of feet with some old powder on top sprinkled with frozen rain drops. Higher up, temperature inversions have rendered the snow wet and dense over lighter, probably rotten stuff. There was some avy debris higher on the open east slopes of Diamond Head. Rob has the gory details on the FOAC info exchange.
