Wanting to avoid the resort crowds yesterday, the decision was made to do some tame stuff on heather ridge before the afternoon storms rolled in. Toured up and over to the north side with Jim G where found a half foot or so of uncohesive powder on top of a hard crust. Ok, but a little scratchy in areas.
After a couple short laps, the snow really started to come down heavy and becoming a more cohesive unit, and then the wind started to pick up. We had enough flags, so we stopped and did some snow study stuff in a safe area. Interesting to see how quickly the danger rose.
The low angle turns back to the highway where the best of the day.
Not the best day for photos.
