Toured from blue box pass with Wayne H. to clear cuts, glades and trees on NW aspect topping out a little over 5k. We did 3 nice moderately steep laps of about 1000' vertical in ~12" of fresh over a firm crust. Stayed to open terrain as the cover in the trees was thin. Stability was good as the new was well bonded with no evidence of burried hoar in this location. New was not particularly light, but skied well as it had been layed in with little to no wind.
