Dec 23, 2009, Paradise Glacier (w/ video)

SaveGondor's video inspired me to edit the footage I took of our trip to Paradise Glacier a few days ago.   We rolled into an empty parking lot, which I've never seen before at Paradise.  It was painful to pass by the lower slopes (shin deep, light, fluffy, trackless) as we headed up.   I'm used to being number 40 in the ascent line, so it was a trip to be the first group making tracks beyond PanPoint. 

Things were pretty scoured above PanPoint and while we intended to go to Camp Muir, the wind was whipping once we got to 9K so we decided to head down from Anvil.  A few thousand feet of turns on Styrofoam until we got down to Golden Gate.   Good times had by all.  video here: http://www.vimeo.com/8398903
