Chris and I toured to just below Anvil Rock and dropped Paradise Glacier.  Conditions included hard-pack, minimal ice, wet powder, powder, breakable crust...but mostly just FIRM.  Great views, great fun...and to all of you that were up there please TAG yourself and if you're on facebook i'll find you there as well!!!!

Nice job of capturing the day with photos and video, Jayme!  Great to see you and Chris up there.  We toured across to look at the Nisqually, but it looked to firm for me, so I chickened out and we headed down towards the P-patch, then across to Mazama ridge and out.  I found the death crust the hard way, with a lightly sprained ankle.

Great day in the mountains:  Our crew in the TAY Vanpool:  Rusty Knees (Don), Moscawulff (Brad), Snow Bell (Joe), Skier Lyles (Chris), Alta Snop (Jay) and Stugie (Stugie)

I think my wife and I followed your (mostly windblown) track on Sunday.  Lots of variable density snow patches loaded all over the place.  Skiing was pretty good considering, but if you got too comfortable...well this happens:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RqdISpmbWSo

Nice vids.  Found this while searching for all you telemark lovers...thought it was pretty awesome - considering the era.

Yeah...i did that at least 5 times... 4 of which were on Mazama ridge where there was actually powder... but you couldn't see the transition to death crust.  i did a good many faceplants.  kudos on dropping the tele turn...i opted for mostly alpine on that variable stuff.

that is ski beyond measure.... but then... give me a sound track like that and i'll show you some rippin!!

To further latch onto your tr I thought I would add a few more pics of the huge crew we managed to assemble. Could have had many more tayer's than we ended up with... maybe Ron and company knew something we didn't. We sure found lots of sastrugi, windboard, crust, and some windblown powder. Good character building day. I really need to tune my skis.

Not sure we knew any more than the rest of you, Chris. Found the same as you did in the open areas so we stuck to north and west facing glades which seemed to have mostly 4 to 8 inches of nice pow atop a bomber crust for some sweet turns. It also helped to have a set of wheels on standby at Narada after we finished having our way with the trees.
'Course you guys got a lot more exercise than we did and for that I am quite envious ;)
