Was going to do some more exploring around nason ridge today but the wind was brutal!! I felt I was going to be lifted off the ridge at one point. Turns where a mix of carvable crust and pockets of powder in the shade, then decent turning soft snow in the sun. Probably every imaginable conditon on the decent to the road.

The wind is blowing the wrong way!! At least acording to the cornices. Some heavy wind deposit on the west facing slopes here. My photo doesn't do the amount of snow moving any justice. Very slabby on the ridge.

After a good facial abrasion, I decided to get the heck down.  At least I got the botum half of my intended line.

Careful out there.

Where do people generally park their car to approach Nason Ridge in the Winter?

Most folks use Smithbrook Road, I think...

Way to suffer the wind John -- that first pic gives a hint.

I parked on 2 at the rock mt trail head. There where 2 tele guys an hour or so ahed of me. Eventually bumped into them and found out I had done a lap with one preseason at stevens. Never saw anybody else.

On the way past smithbrook on the way home I saw 3 riggs for snow machines, and at least a 1/2 dozen more vehicles. Looked like a busy day there.
