Left WR Snow Park at 9am to blue skies and moderate temps. Gained the central moraine in the canyon and dug a pit facing SE at 5800'. About 9" down was a ice/hoar layer that released the top layer after 9 hard taps from the elbow. We weren't too precise and the top layer was still cold. Super-fun turns on both the SE and SW aspects in the canyon. Great base so far! 5hr. RT from car.
