We arrived at the upper C parking lot sharing the vast space with only other one car. From the start the snow lingering on the trees promised of good conditions up high. What was originally forecasted to be around 3 inches was well over 6 inches as we broke trail. We put down a rather aggressive skin track from the Bullions shack all the way to Crown Point trying to minimaize switchbacks on the moderately aggressive slopes. Breaking trail was much easier then anticipated in around a foot of dense powder on the western slopes of Bullions.

As we skinned across the ridge we noted that the Eastern face of Crown was getting loaded and with a quick cornice break we got a minimal sluff running a few hundred feet. We focused our attention on the South facing slopes which had just stared receiving sun light as we started heading down. The snow glistened in the afternoon sun as we rode down the ankle deep sun affected open face until stopping 1500 feet below.

We skinned up through fog city then along the ridge until arriving once again at Crown Point. It was getting late in the day so we rode the west facing slopes between Crown and Bullions and were surprised to find a foot of good snow (comparatively speaking).

If the weather stays somewhat cool the North facing slopes should yield some great turns these next few days.
