A friend and I headed up to the Mt. Baker Ski area. Followed a sizable crew up the blue berry cat track, then skied sticky wicket. Ski penetration above the knee, boot penetration above the groin. Uffdah. Blessed were the track setters.
Dug a pit at 4700' on a 40 degree east-facing slope below Pan Dome. Probed and found 2.5 meters to the ground! Got CT11 Q3 with a compression test on what looked like a lower density layer about 20 inches down. Didn't detect a rain crust, which I expected to find because of the telemetry.
All in all, an excellent start to the 2009-2010 season!
