November 8, No Name Ridge

Family snowplay plans fell through so I joined Michael for a visit to the Cooper Pass area, one of our early season Kittitas County venues.  Parked about 1/2 mile short of the pass where his F150 started bogging down in a foot or so of snow.  Skied to the pass and then up the logging road toward the No Name Ridge trailhead.  Overcast and snowing with occasional views to the surrounding ridges.  Reached the ridge crest about 4800' and called it good; here there was about 2 feet of snow.  A dramatic change of seasons for Michael as he was riding his mtn bike here just last Tuesday.  It was a little shallow to risk the clearcuts so we just skied the road back to the truck.  ~ 8 miles round trip, a good workout for a couple of old farts.  We saw no one else all day.
