After Doing St. Helens on Saturday , Stefan (Sag) and I headed in to try that enticing line down Pyramid Peak we see every time we drive up to Paradise. Left Longmire after being advised that all the bridges were washed away on Kautz creek. Undetered we made the crossing on a log and Stefan did an amazing full pack climb of the loose and crumbling north river bank. ??? After that we made our way to a camp @ about 5200'. Got started about 5:30 am and found our way to the base of Pryamid, sadly the stellar warm weather on Sunday had really softened things up and they hadn't refrozen at all.
Not wanting to be buried in a large pile of slush at the base of a cool ski line, we agreed on a earlier attempt next year and headed out. Here is a shot of Stefan repelling into the Kautz on our way back. More shots to follow soon. ---Jerry

Jerry ,
When we made our try of it we went in through Tahoma creek over suspension bridge and then south into indian henry's. About the same thing happend to us, it got slushy.  Still doable this year right ?  We also skied on Ararat,Copper and and flirted with the Pyramid glacier.
Got a killer place to camp up there.

yeah, it's still doable but hurry. a great time even without the grand prize. The bowl between iron and copper looked like a blast, we'll leave enough time for that next time. pics of the trip are at
