October 25, 2009, Pebble Creek Quarterpipe

skee17 and I started out from Paradise at 0845 or so on Sunday, intended to ski Muir ice.  Numerous people warned us of icy conditions and crevasses, but we were undeterred.  Pebble Creek was icy and nasty, and about halfway up we ran into GregL who told us it was no better higher up.  We climbed until we ran out of snow and decided there was no point in trying Muir given the conditions, so we skied, er, skidded down.

Then we found a beautiful natural quarterpipe, and spent 45 minutes catching air and having fun in the snow.  I will say that quarterpipe made the trip worth it...  Sorry about the bad photo, all I had was my phone and it just doesn't show the terrain well at all.

On the upside, it snowed the whole time we were there.  Winter is coming!
