Regardless of conditions rain, whiteout, snow storms,it is always worth hiking and skiing Heliotrope ridge in the North Cascades.Quick access with spectacular views. And sometimes if you are lucky after years of turns all year flow you will be rewarded with boot top deep powder on the second day of October. With humble expectations, and simple goals life does not get much better.Today I thank the mountains for there good tidings.

You betcha nice job and turns!

Sick, I knew I shoulda went up there.

I knew the weather would be dicey, but we were pumped to go regardless!

With patience in the whiteout we got lucky with the on and off weather.

Take care!

The Cascades are a good thing!

How was the crevasse situation in your opinion, enough snow to bridge them stongly enough? I'm always worried by early season turns up there. When you see it dry, there's a lot of holes about .
