9-30-09 stevns pass pow?
« on: 09/30/09, 12:33 PM »

ok.. no lift, so it goes here?

Last night I told my dog I would take him for a hike this morn. I knew there was new snow, and wasn't quite sure what we where going to do other then head east on 2. Got to the pass and decided we would ike the PCT south.

It didn't take long to realise the best method of transportation. Could have skinned form the very start.

Forest travel was about 90% of about 4"s, once I hit the second switch back I headed out into the resort. From there it was all snow,

Sorry, I thought it said  'skin road'...

weird...

any how, the top 100' or so had some nice powder like  snow on low angle grass that you could turn in. After that is was kind of just survival sliding on what is kind of a road or trail. Made it back to the skid road pct junction without having to unstrap. tried to tele ski the trail back for bit, but  that was asking for disaster, so I just booted back to the car ...

Oh yeah, there was one lift.

Tye rock not quite ready.
