Muir to Anvil crevassed and spotty new snow from the weekend. I skipped it. Anvil to Moon Rocks very nice half inch of soft corn on the six inches or so of compact new snow that has smoothed this slope. The next 500' was kinda slushy and the final 500' to near Pebble Creek was nice soft thin corn with a few patches of old dusty snow beginning to show.

Tomorrow should be fine skiing, Saturday may be almost back to normal September conditions, gritty stone grind.

Deep fresh snow high on the mountain, no summitteers today.

Edited to add photos Sept 12, sorry for the delay, conditions are quite different now I suppose.
Niiice... You use those skis yet?

waiting for deep powder over a good base. Should have sent them south with you! :-)

That's the smart money, for sure :)

One more shot.  Didn't want Jimmy to feel slighted.  :-)

Thanks, Silas. The soft, new, white patches were still holding up today. Pretty nice for run # 1 (11:30), a little sticky for run # 2 (12:30)

- the title of your turns sounds quite the opposite of snow, but way cool !
good metaphor.  I'm down by Reno/ Tahoe,  Burning man would like you
