Justin Carvitto and I skied in to a camp at Eightmile Lake on Sunday.  Headed up the Southwest slopes of Cashmere on Monday morning early.  After the 8000 ft (west) saddle we were stopped 300 feet shy of the summit by weird wind packed powder layers on the north face.  It is steep and this year doesn't hold enough snow to ski off the summit.  Anyone know if it can be skied in other winters when it doesn't see so much wind?
Great turns on the south facing slopes from 8100 feet to 5600 ft, below the Caroline Lake saddle.  Corn was firm and warmed to a 1-2 inch depth.  Took two runs, the second one near Windy Pass.  NOTE: mostly melted out now through the South facing boulder field above Eightmile Creek to 5600 feet.  Short window for this one.

Mountaineer Creek road melted out 2.5 miles.  More by this weekend.

Someone should ski the south slope of Eightmile Mountain. A 3000 vert. run in a huge bowl and wide slide path all the way to the valley floor.
