Has anyone skied (or does anyone know anything about) the couloirs on the southwest face of the needles (north cascades-wolf, lynx, cougar)? I just noticed them in the back of the Beckey 3 guidebook (page 363) and thought that they looked "wow". Anyone interested? Hell, while i'm at it- where are the "zipper", "fly" and "pencil" couloirs? they are reputed to be good, steep, skinny and fun. Just curious. Also, is the slot (snoqualmne) good this time of year, or has it turned to crap? Is it worth a trip, or should I save it for next year?
